The man who won a Brighton Festival “oscar” last year for a play about transporting Guinness is back. This time EDDIE ALFORD and his team of talented actors are bringing a satirical gem about the birth of the Celtic tiger.
Last year’s play – ‘The M Boat’ – played to packed houses, winning standing ovations and five star reviews. It was also voted an Angel – a festival “oscar” – by the theatre going public who praised the “brilliant dialogue” and described the play as a “fabulous performance”.
This year the company are performing Murphy’s Law set in 1994 Ireland. Eddie says it’s about “easy money, corrupt politicians and the church’s attitude towards sex. Oh, and did I mention pig racing…”
The play will be on for eight nights at Upstairs at The Eagle, 25 Gloucester Road, BN1 4AF – a short walk from Brighton station – on May 11, 12, 13 and from May 15 to 19.

We love Niamh Shield’s eatlikeagirl blog. The Waterford born, London based writer was given the accolade of Food Blog of the year by the Guardian earlier this year, and even has had her first book published, Comfort and Spice.

Having recently discovered that Clonakilty Irish Pudding is now available in Budgens on the Queen’s Road, Brighton, what better way to mark St. Patrick’s day than to cook up Niamh’s very own spaghetti Corkese.

Happy St. Paddy’s day and hope to see you at one of the events in Brighton!
